If so, we’re looking for someone to join our Forensic, Valuation & Litigation team. Your work will be diverse and will give you great exposure to a variety of clients and industries. You must have the ability to focus on the big picture and be able to review the details. Your role will require you to often communicate with attorneys and business owners, manage deadlines, and work as part of a team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and manage valuation engagements for various purposes, including tax and financial reporting, transactions, and litigation support
  • Manage multiple projects and ensure timely delivery and quality work
  • Network and perform business development activities through presentations, articles, and other publications
  • Identify ways to work with clients in addition to valuation services, potentially including succession planning, benchmarking, and other advisory services
  • Develop new client relationships and have a strong network of referral sources.
  • Work with the team to brainstorm and solve problems
  • Assist audit and tax teams in valuation and special projects
  • Ability to define issues, collect data, analyze facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Must be able to effectively build a strong referral network
  • Supervises the day-to-day workload of senior associates and associates,on assigned engagements and reviews work product
  • Ensures Senior Associates and Associates are trained on all relevant valuation databases and models
  • Evaluates the performance of senior associates and associates, and assist in the development of goals and objectives to enhance professional development
  • Acts as a career advisor to senior associates and associates, as appropriate

Must Haves

  • Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience or national valuation firm environment, most recently in a management capacity
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting finance or economics
  • Ability to testify in litigation
  • Experience with different types of business valuation, including but not limited to estate/gift, buy/sell, etc. is a plus
  • Experience in transition planning, valuation litigation, and financial statement fair value analysis is a plus
  • Significant experience in business valuation and intangible assets required
  • Prior experience in financial reporting valuation and appraisal review
  • Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Perform effectively in a team environment with all levels of client personnel supporting various industries
  • CPA, CFA, AM, ASA, or other valuation industry credentials preferred
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Superior analytical and research skills
  • Solid organizational skills especially the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details

Tax Supervisor/Manager

Still interested? Ready to become our next tax supervisor or manager?

If so, you’ll overse eand review the preparation of individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns as well as Form 990 and 5500. The candidate will work alongside staff, managers, and partners and will be provided with training to promote learning and growth. You will also oversee and help to develop less experienced staff.

 

Responsibilities

  • Plan and direct corporate, individual, and partnership tax engagements
  • Review complex tax returns including forms 1040, 1041, 709, 990, 5500, et al.
  • Identify and provide tax issues and tax planning advice to a diverse client base
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual income tax provisions; identify and document uncertain tax positions
  • Perform and review technical tax research, analysis, and written memorandum
  • Assist clients with the management of federal and state tax audits and negotiate tax positions
  • Work directly with the firm’s leadership to support the many operational elements of the firm’s tax services, including thought leadership, quality control, and training and development
  • Ensure exceptional client service by delivering the highest quality results, providing forward-thinking advice and suggestions on relevant matters in a manner that is timely and straight-forward
  • Supervise, develop, and train members of our tax practice
  • Focus on management of client relationships to ensure delivery of exceptional client services
  • Responsible for leading a team of staff-level positions and ensuring proper execution of assignments
  • Conduct tax research

Must Haves

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a public accounting or a combination of corporate and public accounting experience
  • Experience with CaseWare Working Papers software and a paperless work environment a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required. Master’s degree is preferred
  • CPA certification required
  • Experience with multistate taxation is strongly preferred
  • Experienced at reviewing income tax returns and tax provisions
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws
  • Strong research and compliance skills
  • Proven ability to work on multiple client engagements and adhere to tax deadlines

Senior Accountant

If so, you’ll need to have at least two years of experience performing external audit functions or related tax work. The successful candidate will work alongside managers and partners to help lead the day-to-day operations of engagements while providing supervision and on-the-job training to their team.

Responsibilities (Assurance Senior)

  • Plan, perform and supervise audit, review, and compilation engagements in an efficient manner to meet client deadlines
  • Identify issues early and deal with such issues timely
  • Accept increasing responsibility for engagements, business correspondence, and research with little input from the supervisor
  • Independently make decisions regarding routine work

Responsibilities (Tax Senior)

  • Assume tax preparation responsibilities for more complex 1040s as well as business returns
  • Perform technical tax review of individual income tax returns
  • Independently research tax issues
  • Supervise and train staff
  • Follow tax compliance laws and discuss with clients as needed

Must Haves

  • Minimum 2 years of public accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

Staff Accountant - CAAS

If so, you’ll be responsible for handling the full-cycle accounting needs of the clients assigned to them. This includes month-end closings, preparation of financial statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger management, and maintaining the client’s accounting system(s) such as QuickBooks Online or desktop.

Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Complete bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Record adjusting journal entries
  • Work with clients using QuickBooks, both online and desktop versions
  • Maintain communication with clients to ensure expectations and deadlines are being met
  • Assist the client with QuickBooks training and clean up
  • Process client payroll, payroll tax computations, and electronic payments
  • Prepare quarterly and annual payroll filings for clients, including W-2s and 1099s

Must Haves

  • 2+ years’ experience in full-cycle accounting or bookkeeping role
  • Understanding of cash and accrual basis financial statements (GAAP)
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks online and desktop (ProAdvisor Certification Preferred)
